From bottom of group to top four, Astralis Talent earned a place in February’s offline finals with three consecutive wins in the WePlay Academy League knockout stages.
The Danes prevailed against Young Ninjas and Fnatic Rising, among others, against whom they had lost in the group phase. “The boot camp was crucial for us. Being together and seeing what mistakes we made in the group stage helped us a lot,” said team captain Victor “vigg0” Bisgaard in an interview after the game.
After two seventh places in the first and second season, it is the first final participation in the tournament series for Astralis Talent. “Before Astralis, I never had the announcer role. It was very difficult for me in seasons one and two,” said Vigg0.
The second team from the Russian organization Spirit also qualified for the LAN finals. A 2-0 win against VP.Prodigy was enough for the Russians as runners-up in the group.
The German teams BIG Academy and Mouz NXT had already bought their ticket for the offline final tournament of the junior league by taking first place in their groups.
