A villa and a tobacconist, who is the drug suspect (28) from Den Bosch?

On Wednesday morning, a 28-year-old man was lifted from his bed during a major police action in Den Bosch. According to the police, he is an important suspect in the investigation into the largest cocaine seizure ever in the Netherlands. Who is this Bosschenaar? Omroep Brabant took a closer look at the house and discovered that the man runs a tobacconist in the Graafsebuurt-Zuid, where money can also be sent abroad.

The arrest of the Bosschenaar is part of a series of raids in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain and Paraguay. In total, dozens of suspects have been arrested. The reason for the raids is the largest cocaine seizure ever in the Netherlands. In February last year, 23,000 kilos of cocaine were discovered in the ports of Antwerp and Hamburg. The drugs had the Netherlands as their final destination. The total value of the cargo was 600 million euros.

Luxurious villa
The police shared images of the raid in Den Bosch, which shows that it is a luxury villa on the Deken Pompenstraat in the Empel district. In a video that a real estate agent posted on Facebook years ago, we see the house, a building with a surface of 350 square meters, two living rooms, and six bedrooms:

The house is registered in the name of a woman from Germany, who bought it in 2002. The villa was for sale for a short time in 2019, but it has not changed hands.

Striking: a company has been established at the same address for five months, a financial holding company of Samir B. According to the Telegraaf, Samir B. is the main suspect in this drug case. In a recent interview for the website Kliknieuws, B. told about his background. ‘Entrepreneurship is in Samir’s blood,’ it says.

In addition to the holding company, B. also runs another company, namely a tobacco shop in the Graafsebuurt-Zuid. In that store money can also be sent abroad without going through a bank or financial intermediary. Because the recipient is difficult or impossible to trace, the service is often used by criminals. He previously ran a barbershop that bore his name in Rotterdam.

The police could not confirm that B. is seen as the main suspect, but a spokesperson does say that the resident of Bossche is an ‘important suspect in the investigation’.
