Four beehives went up in flames on Thursday evening in a fire in a large pile of wood at the Touwslager in Nieuwkuijk. Thousands of bees have died.
The fire brigade quickly brought the fire under control, but could not prevent the beehives from being lost. An earthmoving company crane pulled the pile apart. The fire has now been extinguished.
