After the festival was cancelled, arrest warrant declared that he could no longer perform. Both fans and the German rap scene react in solidarity.
The Offenbacher takes a break. After several appearances were canceled and a gig at the Heroes Festival was canceled at short notice, many people speculated about his health. Since the documentary “Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story” (released in October 2025), it has become clear to many how critical arrest warrants are. In the Netflix work, his enormous drug consumption with serious consequences was discussed, which is why people were now particularly worried. But a break after the documentary? None.
After the documentary revealed that the rapper even had to be resuscitated due to a cocaine overdose, new shows were announced, which shocked many. But now it’s really time – the break. More details here.
What arrest warrant is currently charging
In a post from Sunday evening, June 21st, arrest warrant described being “emotionally and physically in no condition” to perform. It also refers to the time after the documentary, which attracted a lot of attention. The “hype” surrounding him put additional strain on him.
In another Instagram story from June 22nd, the artist added that he doesn’t blame the documentary or other people for his situation – he wants to take full responsibility.
German rap scene and fans show solidarity
The German rap scene came together in the comment section under his Instagram post. From Samra to Summer Cem to Elif and Massiv – everyone wishes him a lot of strength and a speedy recovery. Wishes for recovery are also coming in from outside the music bubble. Kai Pflaume writes: “Rest well. You are still needed.” And the chef and YouTuber Bernd Zehner reports: “Frankfurt remains stable”.
Another top comment also points out the problem that many fans had in mind: “Screw concerts and labels that keep milking you.” Arrest Warrant himself may not be at fault, judging by the labels and the concert schedule in his story – but many fans saw a problem in the organized performances fresh after his withdrawal as soon as it was announced.
Festival summer and autumn concerts in limbo
The 40-year-old rapper had scheduled appearances in the festival summer, for example at the Heroes Festival in Geiselwind and at the World Club Dome in Frankfrut. He didn’t appear at either show, a small foreshadowing of the post published on Sunday. It is not yet known how long the announced break will last.
It is more than questionable whether he will be able to attend the upcoming concerts at the beginning of July at the Frauenfeld open-air festival and the splash! festival. There are also arena concerts coming up in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Berlin in the fall. However, for many fans, the frustration over concerts canceled at short notice seems to be trumped by the desire for improvement for their situation.
