Paid hundreds of euros, then the shock at the entrance: fans failed with fake tickets at the Bad Bunny concert in Düsseldorf. What injured parties should do now.
At the first of Bad Bunny’s two German concerts in Düsseldorf, numerous people with suspected fake tickets failed to gain entry. According to reports on Saturday evening, June 20, several fans were not admitted to the show despite having valid tickets.
According to “WDR”, among others, there were a striking number of such cases in front of the Arena Düsseldorf. Those affected waited at the so-called ticket clearing near the entrance after their tickets turned out to be invalid. Some had come specifically from abroad, including fans from France and Italy.
Sometimes several hundred euros were paid for invalid cards
According to “WDR”, a visitor from Frankfurt am Main is among those affected. According to her own statements, she paid around 700 euros for three tickets that she purchased through a supposed Ticketmaster partner. It was only at the entrance that it became clear that the cards would not be accepted.
The high demand for the Puerto Rican superstar’s only German shows had fueled the secondary market in recent weeks. Prices of several hundred euros per ticket were recently charged for the Düsseldorf gigs on resale platforms.
Police are calling on those injured to report the incident
The Düsseldorf police said on Sunday, June 21st that there had initially been no reports in connection with counterfeit tickets. Victims are still encouraged to report cases of fraud. Investigations could help to establish connections between individual sales and identify possible perpetrators.
The North Rhine-Westphalia consumer advice center has also been warning for years about the risks of buying tickets via secondary market platforms. Offers from unauthorized sellers are particularly problematic, as the authenticity and validity of the cards often cannot be verified.
Apparently there were no abnormalities on the second appearance
While several problems are said to have occurred on Saturday, June 20th, according to on-site observations by “WDR”, no comparable incidents were reported at the second Düsseldorf concert on Sunday, June 21st. The security staff also reported no particular anomalies upon entry.
The discussion about ticket fraud remained present among fans. Many visitors reported cases that they had observed in front of the arena or followed on social networks.
