The TT week officially started today. Due to the heat, it was relatively quiet, without the previously planned running event. But the opening of the fair marked the start of the nine-day celebration.
This afternoon the festival director, the councilor and the children’s mayor gathered next to a giant popcorn box and lollipops. The children’s mayor officially opened the fair with a large key. A sweet start to a festive week.
The TT City Run that was scheduled for today was canceled earlier this week due to the heat. The rest of the program is unchanged. Tomorrow will be all about a historic motorcycle exhibition.
During the week there is plenty to do on the circuit and in the city center of Assen. On Friday and Saturday, Torenlaan will be transformed into TT Laan. Furthermore, several events are planned, such as the TT Nightride, where thousands of motorcycles ride through the city center.
In addition, there is a lot of live music and on Thursday nights the Football World Cup can be watched live on various screens in the center. And don’t forget: the motorcycle racing on the circuit next weekend.
