The new NHL champion team Carolina Hurricanes was celebrated on Saturday in its hometown in Raleigh. The Hurricanes organized a championship parade where their team was bused around the city streets.
According to The News & Observer the championship parade and festivities were attended by “thousands” of Hurricanes fans. Based on the photos taken from the scene, tens of thousands of people took part in the festivities.
The Hurricanes players finally got on stage, including the team’s Finnish star Sebastian Aho gave a speech.
