In recent years, Harry Kane has been one of FC Bayern’s life insurance policies. The Englishman not only scored at will, he directed the offensive and developed into perhaps the best striker in the world. It goes without saying that the German record champions would like to have Kane in their ranks longer.
The Englishman currently only has a contract until 2027. An initial decision about his whereabouts is now said to have been made.
As “Sky” reports, FC Bayern and Kane have decided to put negotiations on hold. There had recently been initial discussions, but now Kane’s sole focus should be on the World Cup with England.
There the captain of the “Three Lions” showed again what he can do. Kane scored twice in his team’s 4-2 win over Croatia.
FC Bayern fans probably don’t have to worry because of the stopped talks. Kane is still very open to extending his contract and is currently not in any contact with other clubs, reports Sky.
The chances are therefore rated as high, and an extension until 2029 should be the goal of both parties.
England icon ennobles Kane
With his brace against Croatia, Kane also equaled his country’s World Cup goals record. He has now scored ten goals at World Cups, just like England icon Gary Lineker.
However, the former top striker is happy for Kane and is full of praise for the captain of the “Three Lions”. “In my opinion, Harry Kane is the best English striker we’ve ever had. I really believe that now. His versatile game – that’s what sets him apart from everyone else for me,” Lineker praised the Bayern star.
“I’m really happy that Kane has equaled my record. But in alphabetical order I’m still ahead of him and that’s all that matters,” the England icon said, showing that the record isn’t that important to him.
