Sunscreen, rain cape or both? The Southside Festival 2026 will be hot – up to 31 degrees. All weather information and the most important packing list now.

The Southside festival comes paired with summer temperatures and sunny days. Festival visitors should apply sunscreen and put on a hat: it will be especially warm in Neuhausen ob Eck, the municipality where the Southside Festival takes place every year.

This year, around 59,000 guests are expected from June 18th to 21st, who will travel near Tuttlingen in Swabia to support artists such as Provinz, Halsey, Yungblud and Twenty One Pilots. A particularly important question in the days before the festival: What will the weather be like? Pack a rain jacket or swimming trunks?

What does the weather report say?

This year the chances of summer weather are good: it can be up to 31 degrees on Fridays and Sundays. So far the predicted chance of rain is low. It may rain lightly on the night from Friday to Sunday, otherwise the chance of precipitation will remain at a maximum of 30 percent – so music fans could largely get away with it dry.

In general, however, high temperatures also bring with them an increased risk of summer thunderstorms. It is still advisable to stock up for a potential storm.

Packing list

So what must be included? The packing list should definitely include sunscreen, preferably sun protection factor 50. At 30 degrees, sun protection such as cappies or something similar can be beneficial and provide some shade in front of the stage.

Also: drink lots of water! If the wet does come from above: A rain cape doesn’t take up much space in your backpack and, in case of doubt, decides whether you are soaked to the skin or stay dry.

In an emergency, get into the car

Anyone who is concerned about the safety situation in the event of a thunderstorm can be reassured: the Southside already has experience with severe storms – in 2016 the event had to be canceled completely. Hopefully it won’t be that bad this year. If the summer thunderstorm does approach, the safest way to be protected is in a car.
