In the fall of 2024, actress Pilvi Hämäläinen jumped into a mobile home with her dog Humppa and went on a tour of Europe for the next few months. Hämäläinen captures his travel moods The cloud is the road – in his television series, the first episodes of which appeared on the paid Ruutu+ service last week.
In the third episode, which will be published today on the streaming service, Pilvi and Humppa have progressed to autumn Germany. The pressures of traveling alone start to pile up on Pilvi’s neck and nerves tighten. Stress is caused, among other things, by schedules, which Pilvi feels she is falling behind on.
In the yard of a German gas station, emotions take over.
– I’m so sad, Pilvi says through her tears.
In the middle of the emotional upheaval, Pilvi starts to tell himself.
– The peak of media narcissism is to photograph yourself crying. Now look, I’m such an emotional person.
– I dare to be brutally honest and normalize even difficult feelings, Pilvi pinches herself.
Pilvi admits that crying is difficult for her.
– It has always scared me to cry a lot. To the last I hold and hold back that weeping. That’s probably why a terrible lump has slowly developed.
– I haven’t cried so much in years as I did because of my friend’s death. I decided that I would just try to dare to cry, even if it was scary, she says.

Pilvi Hämäläinen talked about the challenges of traveling alone before Paula Noronen co-hosting with Pilvi and Paula on the podcast.
– From the beginning, I felt really lonely at times, just kind of sad. And such that why did I leave here when I don’t get to do these things and it’s a bit stressful that I don’t dare to talk to people. It was really annoying. On Christmas Eve, I cried at one point because it’s so lonely, Pilvi said.
Hämäläinen said that he imagined that during his trip he would, for example, become a part of the local community. However, the dreams were quickly shattered.
– Then came the fact that now I’ve been traveling for two months already, and I haven’t talked to anyone other than the gas station employees. It has been really lonely at times, he said.
