Iltalehti asked its readers what they think about Sofia Virtra’s participation in Special Forces shootings.

Last week, the parliament wondered where the chairwoman of the Greens, Sofia Virta, was. Virta had announced that she would be absent from June 9 to 12. due to an acceptable personal reason. However, it soon turned out that he is Special forces– on the set of a reality TV show.

In the aftermath of Public Crushing, Virta returns the MP’s fee she received during filming.

Virta is not the first politician who has participated in reality TV filming. Member of Parliament of SDP Miapetra Kumpula-Natri participated A great adventure – program, while Virtra’s way For special forces have been attended by the minister Mika Poutala (kd), MPs Pinja Perholehto (s.d.), Ville Kaunisto (cook) and Tom Packalén (ps) and MEP Henna Virkkunen (cook).

Now the readers of Iltalehti have diligently shared their opinions about Virtra’s participation.

Unpaid

A significant part of the respondents was of the opinion that returning the premium was the right solution.

– Restoring the bonus is the right solution, but it does not bring back the lost working days. The most important task of a member of parliament is to be present in parliament, not on reality TV.

– If I’m away from work, like Virta has been away from his own work, then I guess you can’t even imagine getting paid for the time you’re away. The holidays are then separate – then everyone does exactly what they like.

– Every one of them seems to be running in every program, yes, everything should be put in the same mold. If you do other stuff, you won’t get any wages.

– Everyone can participate as much as they want, but the reward for that time will be withheld. Without pay, other employees also get such holidays. It’s unfair to squirm in such a matter, which nevertheless comes to light. I hope the voters remember this person.

– In my opinion, politicians are allowed to participate in reality TV shows, but they should not be paid fees, just as they should not be if a member of parliament or a minister is absent for another unacceptable reason.

Lying

Some of the respondents feel that Virta lied about what she did.

– What was reprehensible was not participating in a reality TV program, but lying about being absent for a personal reason. Who can be trusted anymore if they act dishonestly even in such a matter?

– If he had handled the matter as he should, which he didn’t, but mother egg, he should have handled the matter normally, i.e. unpaid leave from work. Didn’t apply, lied. No more this representative. You could resign as chairman already so that the party can continue with a clean slate. Isn’t integrity required of MPs? Of course, to be compared to how other representatives have handled the same situations. How common has cheating been?

An absolute no

Many respondents consider that a member of parliament must fully concentrate on parliamentary work.

– You must be available to the parliament during the session. The representatives have enough vacations, so they can even participate in silly programs.

– When a person is a Member of Parliament and the chairman of the party, one must invest 100% in those tasks. There is no time then For special forces or for other adventures.

– Strange passage of time from a member of parliament. Probably not the right thing to do in the office or at work in parliament.

– Yes, the participation of a member of parliament seems like an unfair action in general Special forces onward to other TV shoots and nonsense. Members of Parliament have been elected and given a power of attorney to manage the national affairs of Finnish citizens. Understanding is not enough for such nonsense of MPs. MPs from all parties have participated in such TV filming in the past, and such participation must definitely be prohibited from MPs, it does not reach the rights of the people’s power.

Equality

Virtra found many defenders. Several respondents felt it was unfair that Virtra’s participation was being complained about, when many others have been allowed to participate in the programs without similar harassment.

– I completely accept it. There have been other MPs there. I take my hat off when you go on such a rampage. I’m not a supporter of the Greens, but I like his style of taking a stand on things.

– It’s great that he is returning his reward! Iltalehti could ask Poutala and Kumpula-Natri when they will return their unjustly received fees!

– If representatives of other parties have participated, Sofia Virra has the right to participate as well.

– How can I fuck Tom Packalén when he participated in the same thing? Not questioned in any way. Now that the elections are approaching, are there different rules for women and men, or for assholes and others?

– It’s really purposeful and downright dishonest to make a fuss about Sofia, when many other representatives have been in some program at some point.

One of the respondents commented on Virtra’s special treatment along with reasons.

– I wonder why this Virta, which is only the 16th in the parliament’s absence statistics, has been raised to a stick, when For special forces other MPs have also participated before Virta, such as Tom Packalén (ps), Mika Poutala (kd), Pinja Perholehto (sd), Ville Kaunisto (kok) and Henna Virkkunen (kok) in addition to the Miapetra mentioned in the news.

The same commenter continued with further reflection.

– Have they all declared their absence correctly? What is their ranking in the absence statistics for both types of absence: sick leave and other absences? Why does Halla-aho “forget” these other special forces MPs and say it’s a “new” problem? The current is by no means an isolated case. It would be nice to get the interviews and faces of those others who were in the program.

The following respondents commented in the same style.

– Ridiculous. Make an article that lists all MPs who have participated in TV programs during their term and were absent from work because of it, and don’t just throw one (woman) under the bus again. Miracle juicing.

– Not necessarily the right solution, but why did such a huge fish ball arise now? There have been other representatives from other parties there. Have they returned the money, I do not understand, smear!

– Has Mika Poutala returned his fee? If Virta has to be restored, so does everyone else. Let everyone do what they want in their free time, working time is a different matter, then we do work.
