Following an accident that occurred around midnight along the Regina state road, a Fiat Panda fell into Lake Como between the municipalities of Brienno and Argegno, in the Como province. From what emerges following the initial reconstructions of the facts, there were four cars involved in the accident. Causing the accident it would have been the car driven by a foreign citizen resident in Saronno, who following the impact would have tried to escape on foot, but would have been stopped and identified by the Carabinieri. The car in question would have collided with the Fiat Panda which, following the violent impact, would have broken through the wall that borders the road, inevitably ending up in the lake. After being recovered, the young woman was entrusted to the care of healthcare personnel, but does not appear to be in serious condition. There was nothing to be done, however, for the 37-year-old man recovered by divers, who was found lifeless after the underwater exploration. Two other boys, aged 29 and 30, in a third car involved in the accident were also injured. However, the driver of the fourth car remained unharmed.
