Unusual weekend for the Serbian striker: no sea, he’s still in the city and training while waiting for the new CEO

An unusual weekend in… Turin: far from the sea, in the gym training and with one eye on the phone. Dusan Vlahovic has far from abandoned his hopes of continuing his career at Juventus, confident that the change of guard at the top of the management can put him back on track for a new spell in black and white. The confrontation between his father, Milos, and Comolli had stalled without the possibility of talking about the renewal again. With Carnevali’s arrival, an important margin has been reopened, especially because Spalletti is there to act as a support for the player’s stay.

SITUATION

Aside from the economic issues to be explored, Dusan would like to stay in Turin: he defines himself as a “Juventus player”, an aspect that distances him from other Italian clubs that have historically been competitors of the Lady and which accredits his desire to win some trophies in black and white. Spalletti plays with a Vlahovic-style centre-forward and the market offers little for now: retaining the Serbian would mean saving on the amount to be paid for a card, plus the player is open to the possibility of signing a short one-two year contract. The advantages are not only for Juve, considering that the whirlwind of center forwards in Europe is destined to start at the end of the World Cup and therefore the Serbian risks being without a team for several weeks: from 30 June he is free.

POSITIONS

A weekend in mid-June, with the season over and the contract about to expire, would have been usual at the seaside. Instead, Vlahovic is hoping for Juve’s call starting from the arrival of Carnevali, who is expected at Continassa at the beginning of the week. It is possible that the new manager will address the topic right from the first meeting with Spalletti this weekend, also because the coach considers it one of the key topics for planning the season in the best possible way. Vlahovic’s request to stay at Juve is 8 million per season, i.e. the basic salary that the 9 has received in recent years: richer offers have arrived, but for now his priority continues to be Juve. The club, through Comolli, has so far maintained its position at 5 million per year, wanting to keep the salary awarded to Yildiz (6) as the maximum reference. A variable part linked to some individual and team performance bonuses could bring the parties closer, if there was a desire to continue together.
