Pig farmer Jozef ‘Jos’ Van Ouwenhuysen (64), who was sentenced to fourteen years in prison in 2023 for the murder of Paul Boeye, is no longer in prison. The sentencing court allowed the sixty-year-old to continue serving his sentence at home with an ankle monitor. However, he never admitted that he killed his victim in his stables: according to him, it was an accident with a manhole cover. “This feels like a new blow for the surviving relatives,” responds lawyer Joris Vercraeye, who represents them.
