Haiti, which won the right to participate in the tournament for the second time after 1974, included a depiction inspired by the Battle of Vertieres and the Haitian Revolution, won against the French army on November 18, 1803, in the first design of its jersey.

The Haitian Football Federation changed its jersey design after FIFA deemed the depiction of “independence supporters raising the country’s flag” political and requested it be changed.

Before the Winter Olympics in February, Haiti had to make changes at the request of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to a depiction on its ski costumes.

Haiti, which does not have any points yet in the tournament, will face Scotland on Sunday, June 14 at 04:00 CET.
