Zagre’s player-agent accuses the club of a wrong diagnosis.
Soccer player from Burkina Faso Ben Aziz Zagré27, has died. He confirmed the matter on his website on Wednesday Burkina Faso Football Association.
The player who enjoyed himself as a top player died of bone cancer on Sunday.
Zagré’s last club was Yaroslavl Šinnik of the Russian 1st division, in whose ranks he still played in the 2024–2025 season.
Player agent Dmitry Seluk submit to the MatchTV websitethat the Russian club’s doctors mistreated the player.
– If the doctors had been a little more attentive along the way, everything could have ended differently. They simply failed, Seluk criticized.
According to him, a sample was taken from Zagré, after which Shinnik’s doctors announced that everything was fine. However, the player himself had sought another evaluation, after which he was sent to a department specializing in bone cancer.
– The doctor immediately told me that Zagre has cancer.
Seluk believes that with the correct diagnosis, death could have been avoided. He helped the player get proper treatment, but the cancer had already spread too far.
– Later I took him to Germany and Portugal, where he underwent chemotherapy. With it, he extended his life by a year. His leg was amputated, but it didn’t help.
During his career, Zagre appeared once in the national team of Burkina Faso. In addition to Shinnik, his clubs included Denmark’s Esbjerg, Portugal’s Vitória Guimarães and Kazakhstan’s Kaisar.
