One of the speakers was model and presenter Loiza Lamers. During an interview, she spoke candidly about the challenges she has experienced as a transgender woman and how she has learned to deal with them. Her message to the students was clear: stay true to yourself, even when others have difficulty with it.

“I was beaten up so many times, bullied so much. But the most important thing always remained: being myself.” With her personal story, Lamers showed how mental resilience can help get through difficult periods.

Nick Hoogendorp, discussion leader during the event and co-founder of the Triple ThreaT foundation, also finds it valuable that the students took the initiative themselves. “I think this is an extremely important topic. Fortunately, it is receiving more and more attention.”
