There is still no structural shelter for asylum seekers who cannot sleep in Ter Apel. They do not have to sleep outside on the grass at the asylum seekers’ center until tomorrow morning.
Aid organization MiGreat reports that twelve asylum seekers spent the night on the forecourt of the registration center in Ter Apel. According to a spokesperson for the organization, these are people who arrived too late to catch the bus to the night shelter in Roden.
MiGreat has set up seven tents on the site for them. It was quite cold there at night, according to the organization.
The municipality of Noordenveld has arranged 150 sleeping places for refugees who cannot stay in Ter Apel. Since May 20, the registration center has accommodated one hundred people above its maximum reception capacity.
