Vivianne Miedema has undergone another knee operation. Her English football club Manchester City reported that the Dutch striker has undergone successful surgery and is focusing on recovery heading into the new season.
“Miedema will now work on her rehabilitation in close collaboration with the club’s medical staff this summer, with the aim of returning to the selection in the preparation of the new season,” the club said via X.
The 29-year-old attacker previously missed the 2023 World Cup due to a serious knee injury. National coach Arjan Veurink reported last week that Miedema was not present for the Dutch team in the last two matches of the World Cup qualifying due to “a combination of factors”, physically and in her private situation.
