Olympic athlete Tutu Sohlberg has died, reports Equestrian Sports.

Finnish Olympic athlete Tutu Sohlberg (nee Bärlund) has died at the age of 84. Tells about it Equestrian sport.

Sohlberg competed in dressage at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. Finland achieved its best ever team ranking when Sohlberg, Kyra Kyrklund, by Jenny Eriksson and Maarit Raiskion formed team finished sixth. Sohlberg was 35th in the individual race.

Sohlberg also won four Finnish championships in ice track driving. The titles came in 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1971.

An Olympic athlete married a racing driver by Kari O. Sohlberg with in 1963. The couple celebrated their diamond wedding in 2023.

– We were together for 68 years, Kari O. Sohlberg tells Horse Sports.

The Sohlbergs had five children. The grandchildren Give it, Julia and Emma Tallberg made international careers in school and show jumping.

Kari and Tutu Sohlberg made almost a living from motor racing, as they were paid entry money for participating in the races.

Tutu Sohlberg’s family also had fighting skills. His cousin was a Finnish boxing legend Gunnar “GeeBee” Bärlund.

According to horse racing, Sohlberg suffered from a heart disease in recent years. He died on June 3 surrounded by his loved ones.
