The Place Mill has been officially reopened with a blessing. The mill must be protected against all disaster. After years of waiting, Pittem can once again enjoy a special piece of heritage that has been restored to its full glory.

The restoration was thorough. The hood was completely renewed, as were the tail and blades. The gears inside were also tackled, so that the mill can work again.

“We can also grind corn for animals and chickens,” says miller Lieven Braeckevelt. “But we will also grind for an organic farmer who asked to come by. And private individuals can also have something ground. They have to bring it and then we will grind it with great pleasure.”
