In accordance with the TFF statute, the period between 1 June 2025 and 31 May 2026 was discussed at the general assembly. The board of directors’ activity report, income-expense tables, balance sheet and audit board report were read and discussed at the meeting.
Making a speech at the general assembly, TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu stated that he prayed to God that the general assembly, which was held a few days before the World Cup, in which Türkiye won the right to participate again after 24 years, would be beneficial for Türkiye and the Turkish nation.
“WE SHAPE THE GOALS OF THE FUTURE TOGETHER”
Stating that they did not just hold a Financial General Assembly, Hacıosmanoğlu said, “We are accounting for the great march that brought us to today’s World Cup stage, and we are shaping the goals of the future together. On this occasion, I would like to thank all stakeholders who have contributed to every level of our football. I congratulate our clubs, athletes, technical teams, referees, managers and fans who add value to Turkish football, from amateur leagues to professional leagues, from infrastructures to our national teams.”
“ATTENDING THE WORLD CUP IS NOT THE RESULT FOR US, IT IS A NEW BEGINNING”
Emphasizing that the success of participating in the World Cup is not only the success of a team but also of a country and a football family, Hacıosmanoğlu said, “Our national team, which has earned the right to participate in the World Cup after 24 years, has brought great pride to our nation with its intervention, belief and character on the field. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our Coach Vincenzo Montella and our football players, who are the architects of this historical success, on behalf of our nation. However, participating in the World Cup is not an outcome for us, but a new beginning. Our goal is not only to take part in tournaments, but also in big organizations.” “Our aim is to be one of the permanent and strong countries. Our national team, which was ranked 27th in the FIFA World Rankings when we took office, has now risen to 22nd. The fact that we will compete in the UEFA International A League for the first time in its history is one of the indicators of this great rise.”
“WE WILL ALSO OPEN THE FIFA REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE IN ISTANBUL”
Stating that they are working hard to ensure that Turkish football is strongly represented not only on the field but also in the international arena, Hacıosmanoğlu said, “Today, there is a Turkey that is represented more effectively in various boards of FIFA and UEFA. Opening the third representative office of UEFA in Istanbul after London and Brussels is one of the most concrete results of this vision. Our work continues on opening the Istanbul representation of FIFA. During my dear friend Infantino’s visits to Istanbul, we talked with the relevant authorities, especially our President, about the allocation of space. “We have held meetings. We will open the FIFA representative office in Istanbul as soon as possible. In addition, before the meetings in which we took important steps within the scope of this project of FIFA, which will increase the access of our youth to football, we received a promise of support from FIFA President Infantino to increase the number of fields from 60 to 100 in the first stage.”
