The athlete Owen Ansah broke his own German 100 meter record in Regensburg. The HSV sprinter ran 9.98 seconds, dedicated the run to his injured coach and spoke of a “super happy” moment.
At the “Sparkassen-Gala” athletics meeting in Regensburg, sprinter Owen Ansah broke the German record over 100 meters. Ansah, who starts for Hamburger SV, crossed the finish line after 9.98 seconds. In doing so, he beat his own German record by a hundredth of a second.
Owen Ansah: “I’m super happy”
“I knew I was fast. I really wanted to get it on the track today. And I think the time speaks for itself,” said Ansah after his record run, which he dedicated to his trainer, who had recently undergone shoulder surgery. “I felt good. The competition was there. That’s what you need as a sprinter. I’m super happy,” said the 25-year-old.
