The German 3×3 basketball players were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Warsaw. The quartet with Olympic champion Marie Reichert, Ama Degbeon, Britta Daub and Laura Zolper surprisingly lost 16:18 to Azerbaijan in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, Azerbaijan will now face the winner of the game between the USA and France.
The DBB selection prevailed in the group phase against China, Italy, Latvia and the Philippines and confidently won the group with four wins from four games. As a result, the team qualified directly for the round of the last eight.
On Saturday evening, the sixth-seeded DBB men will meet Austria in their quarter-finals. The men’s team also won all four group games and advanced to the quarter-finals as group winners.
The semi-finals and final will take place on Sunday (from 5:00 p.m.) on the court in front of the Palace of Culture and Science in the Polish capital.
