A man (49) from Sprang-Capelle was arrested on Friday afternoon at the Maria Chapel in Waalwijk. He had caused quite a bit of damage inside the chapel. He had broken all kinds of vases and pots.
The Waalwijk-Loon police on Zand announced in a message on Facebook that they have arrested the man. “He was guilty of vandalism in the chapel. Fortunately, the statues were not damaged.”
It is not known what caused the man to damage the well-known ‘chapel’. This is being investigated by the police.
