The sports streaming market is getting a new player. As the world association Fifa announced, the portal called “FIFA+” was launched this Tuesday.
The world football association Fifa will offer its own streaming service in the future. More than 40,000 live games a year, game statistics, “the largest archive” in international football and its own documentation should be available on the new FIFA+ platform. The offer, which started on Tuesday, is free for fans from all over the world.
Documentation also available
“FIFA+ is the next step in our vision of a truly global and inclusive football and underscores FIFA’s core purpose of spreading and promoting football around the world,” said President Gianni Infantino. He expects a “cultural shift” in the way fans “want to experience and interact with football”. This will “accelerate the democratization of football,” emphasized the 51-year-old.
As early as 2022, 29,000 men’s and 11,000 women’s games from more than 100 countries in all six confederations are to be shown, ranging from the top European leagues to competitions in men’s, women’s and youth football that are not otherwise covered. The first documentaries to be broadcast will be Fifa Originals on Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Carli Lloyd, Romelu Lukaku, Dani Alves and Lucy Bronze. The offer should be “continuously expanded and expanded”.
