TSV 1860 Munich, which was relegated to the regional league, has terminated the cooperation agreement with investor Hasan Ismaik. In a press release, the Lions announced: “TSV Munich von 1860 eV has terminated the cooperation agreement with HAM International concluded on May 30, 2011 for good cause with immediate effect.”
Background: Ismaik had announced that he would not invest any further money in the club and thus not save the club from possible bankruptcy. “I think it is now clear to everyone that simply making new money available year after year cannot be a solution,” said the investor to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. The “real question” is how the club wants to build a stable future that is not dependent on emergency financing every season,” explained the 48-year-old, emphasizing that it is not a question of “whether one person grants another loan to another.”
Place in the Bavarian Regional League is secured for 1860 Munich
Due to the withdrawal of the main sponsor, who made use of a special right of termination after the forced relegation from the 3rd league, around 2.7 million euros were missing in 1860. This roughly corresponds to the sum that was needed to obtain a license in the 3rd league. The right to start in the Bavarian Regional League is secured. “With a view to the 2026/2027 season, TSV 1860 Munich is taking all organizational and formal legal measures necessary. TSV München von 1860 eV has already received approval from the Bavarian Football Association for the Bavarian Regional League,” the club announced.
According to media reports, this is made possible by the fact that the right to play now lies with the eV. According to “Bild”, the spun-off KGaA, in which Ismaik holds 60 percent of the shares, actually still exists, but due to the termination of the cooperation agreement it has lost the valuable gaming rights that are needed to apply for licenses.
