The Brussels fire brigade had to cancel an intervention in the city center on Thursday after firefighters were confronted with dangerous situations during the derailed education demonstration. Some demonstrators tried to climb onto a fire truck while fireworks were set off right next to the vehicle. The fire brigade then withdrew. The source of the fire was eventually extinguished with a federal police spray truck.
