In Oss, a dog was bitten to death by aggressive dogs belonging to a camper resident who has been staying illegally on the Rusheuvel for months. The camper place may be used for a maximum of 72 hours, but the resident does not care about this. A local resident watched helplessly as her dog was mauled for fifteen minutes, while she walked with her child in the pram. Police officer Henk Croonen from Sprundel did not recognize Marco van Basten in 1988 when the Dutch national team returned after the European Championship. The star player was wearing a gray suit and wanted to pass through the riot police line, but Henk stood his ground: only players from the Dutch team were allowed through. The platoon commander eventually had to release him: ‘This is Marco van Basten, Henk.’ Henk had little interest in football and always ran during matches because it was quiet on the streets.
