FC Barcelona doesn’t want to waste any time in the transfer market. After purchasing Anthony Gordon, the Spanish champions are said to be looking to sign Bernardo Silva. But there will be no quick deal.

“Bernardo will decide after the World Cup,” Silva advisor Jorge Mendes told transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. This means: FC Barcelona and all other interested parties have to be patient.

Atlético Madrid are also said to be keen on the Portuguese World Cup driver. From Italy, Juventus Turin is considered a candidate. According to Romano, Silva prefers a move to Spain.

At the beginning of the week, the radio station “RAC1” reported that Barca coach Hansi Flick had given those responsible the okay to sign the 31-year-old. According to “Mundo Deportivo” the Spanish champions should have the best cards. Silva is reportedly willing to take a salary cut.

Era of success at Manchester City

The offensive star had played for Manchester City since 2017, and the veteran even served as captain most recently. The separation at the end of the season was confirmed in April. Silva is a free transfer.

“What we have won and achieved together is an era that will remain in my heart forever,” said the City legend in a statement on the short message service X. The creative player won every title imaginable with Manchester City. “It wasn’t bad,” said Silva, summing up his time at the Premier League club.

The attacking midfielder now wants to focus on the World Cup. Only then will it be decided where Silva will continue his career at club level.

FC Barcelona has no choice but to wait. The Catalans are currently also linked with Julián Álvarez from Atlético. The Argentine World Cup driver is expected to pay over 100 million euros.
