The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office in California has issued an arrest warrant for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The reason for this is a video that the 28-year-old posted in December YouTube had posted.
The authorities confirmed this on Wednesday ESPN. In the video, Aiyuk appeared to record himself driving his car at significantly excessive speeds on a street next to Levi’s Stadium.
The receiver posted an apology just a few days later, but now the incident has consequences. Aiyuk is accused of excessive speed, which is a minor offense (“misdemeanor”).
The 2020 first-round pick’s NFL career is currently on hold. After Aiyuk seriously injured his knee in October 2024, his return was expected over the course of last season. However, for unknown reasons, he fell out with the team and boycotted mandatory rehab appointments. In return, the Niners removed the guarantees from his contract.
