Summer is just around the corner and with it the “silly season” in Formula 1. TV expert Ralf Schumacher shared exciting information before the Monaco Grand Prix.

In the “Sky” podcast “Backstage Pit Lane”, the long-time Formula 1 driver commented on the plans at the Haas racing team. “In a perfect world, the team would like to continue with both drivers,” revealed Schumacher.

Haas is competing in Formula 1 this season with Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman. The US racing team apparently does not want to make any changes with a view to 2027. Schumacher pointed out “how difficult it is to find good, reliable drivers with experience.”

“Sky” commentator Peter Hardenacke added regarding Ocon that Haas would ask other teams for possible successors. “So it seems like there are at least two-pronged plans,” said Schumacher’s podcast colleague.

In May there was still speculation surrounding Formula 1 that Ocon had to worry about his cockpit after just a few races of the season. But apparently the 29-year-old Frenchman’s shares are now doing better again.

Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship: Bearman clearly ahead of Ocon

Teammate Bearman is currently clearly ahead in the drivers’ standings. The Briton has already collected 18 points, while Ocon only scored one. The next chance comes this weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Haas is currently in seventh position in the Formula 1 constructors’ championship with 19 points. The US racing team currently has four teams behind it: Williams (7), Audi (2), Cadillac and Aston Martin (both 0).

The “Silly Season” in Formula 1 traditionally always picks up speed in the summer. On Wednesday, Ferrari confirmed the contract extension with Charles Leclerc. The exact duration is not known.
