Before they were partners, they were enemies. During the 2023 campaign, Javier Milei accused Patricia Bullrich of having been a “bomb thrower” and of “having planted bombs in kindergartens.” She filed a criminal complaint against him for slander. Months later, they shared a cabinet. Thus began a relationship that, since then, has not stopped producing sparks.
The first chapter of the long history was written in 2025when Karina Milei decided to remove Bullrich from the Ministry of Security by pushing her to head the list of candidates for the Senate. She reluctantly accepted: she had never wanted to be a candidate. The general secretary’s calculation was that the wear and tear of Congress would wipe her off the map. The plan did not go as expected.
Already in the Senate, Bullrich was building his own profile with a skill that made the ruling party’s small table uncomfortable. When the sanction of the labor reform became an achievement of the Government, she posted a video with Madonna’s Vogue in the background, taking credit for it. The conflict with Manuel Adorni added another chapter. When the Chief of Staff was involved in the scandal over his assets, Bullrich publicly asked him to present his sworn statement. “It has to be now. It’s stretching something that doesn’t make sense,” he said on television. The message was as clear as it was inopportune: the ruling party banks Adorni against all odds.
The tension escalated in a Cabinet meeting where Milei defended his official for thirty minutes and, when Bullrich tried to open the debate, the President got up and left. Adorni blocked his way with a sharp phrase. Days later, she came out to put what happened into perspective with a definition that will remain in the annals: “The President has an important emotionality“. He did not confirm the screams. He did not deny them either.
The last chapter, for now, was his vote in freedom of conscience against the document of the candidate for judge Michelli, in open contradiction with the official line. He offered to resign from the leadership of the block. Milei rejected the resignation. The gesture remained the same: a sign of autonomy that the presidential environment did not digest.
