President Donald Trump is done with all the fuss surrounding the concert series in honor of the 250th anniversary of the US. In a message on Truth Social, he said that instead of that event, he might want to hold an ‘America is Back’ rally on The National Mall in Washington on Wednesday.
His desire to pull the plug on the so-called ‘Great American State Fair’ comes after a number of artists canceled their performances for political reasons earlier this week. According to them, the event would mainly threaten to become an ode to Trump.
“I don’t want so-called ‘artists’ who make way too much money and aren’t happy,” Trump said. He says that he wants to fill the gap created by the cancellations himself by giving an ‘important speech’, with which he will ‘excite the country’.
The event would take place from June 25 to July 10. The American parliament in the then British colonies declared independence on July 4, 1776.
