The shoe supplier Gabor is celebrating the premiere of its new shopfitting concept on one of Germany’s most popular holiday islands.

The brand’s flagship store in Westerland on Sylt reopened on Thursday. The store, which has an area of 106 square meters, uses the “Gabor Brand New Space System” furnishing concept for the first time, which was developed by Konrad Knoblauch GmbH, based in Markdorf on Lake Constance.

“The special thing about the concept is that Gabor not only focuses on a new, fresh brand experience, but also acts sustainably,” explained Chris Zorn, Division Head Retail at the shopfitting specialist Knoblauch, in a statement. “According to the ‘Lego principle’, the furniture was configured in such a way that it can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of situations in the long term and in a modular manner and can therefore be used in a wide range of locations.”

According to the company, the concept was first implemented in the spring at the ANWR order fair in Mainhausen. Now it is also being used in a store.

“With its new store design, Gabor is consistently developing the classic point of sale into a point of service and a networked, ‘phygital’ brand experience,” explained Knoblauch. “Analog and digital touchpoints intertwine – from inspiration online to advice and presentation in the store.”

Jens Bickenbach, Head of Shop & Store at Gabor, explained the goals that the shoe supplier is pursuing with the new concept. “We stage design, craftsmanship and individuality spatially, create emotional bonds and particularly appeal to younger target groups,” he explained in a statement.
