Henk Fraser does not feel good about leaving the Dutch national team. The assistant national coach is forced to do so because his new employer FC Utrecht does not agree that he temporarily exchanges the club for Orange during international matches.
“I started this last year. Louis van Gaal had plenty of choice then. If the choice falls on you and you leave halfway through, that’s not fun. Not fun for myself, but I think it’s super annoying for him especially Fraser said Monday in Amsterdam, where he attended the premiere of Louis van Gaal’s film. “I was hesitant to talk to Van Gaal about that. I have had his approval, that makes it a lot easier.”
Fraser is still trainer of Sparta. The Rotterdammers did give him permission for the interim assistant national coach. When Utrecht set the condition, Fraser had to think for a while. “Who doesn’t want to go to the World Cup? This is something that is very painful and very unfortunate. But I also really wanted to go to FC Utrecht. I have to look at my interests. I also have to respect that the interests of a club are different. ”
