The victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Due to the incident, train traffic between Bruges and Roeselare was temporarily halted and passengers were transported further by replacement buses.
Railway manager Infrabel once again emphasizes that railway running remains prohibited and extremely dangerous. According to the organization, the accident proves that awareness campaigns are still necessary.
