Pink Floyd saxophonist Dick Parry has died at the age of 83, according to foreign news media. Group front picture David Gilmour told about the death of his friend and colleague on Facebook with his emotional publication. He did not say Parry’s cause of death.
– My friend Dick Parry died this morning. I’ve been playing since I was 17 in bands, Dick on sax, including Pink Floyd. His emotion and tone made his playing an incredible beauty familiar to millions. It’s a big part of the songs, like Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, Us and Them and Money, Gilmour writes.
Parry appeared in the ranks of Pink Floyd in the 1970s. He played the band The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here albums. Later he came back to call The Division Bell on disk and Pulse – on the live album, says Rolling Stone -leaf.
Parry also recorded with other artists, such as The Who John Entwistle, by Rory Gallagher and Lightnin’ Slim with.
