Actually, at least as Italian media have been reporting for weeks, everything is clear between Goretzka and AC Milan. Both sides have agreed on a change. The DFB star probably has a three-year contract.
However, Goretzka is now hesitant to sign and for good reason. As the “Gazzetta dello Sport” reports, the 31-year-old wants to wait for the weekend. The last matchday in Serie A is coming up.
If the Rossoneri are not successful in their home game against Cagliari at the weekend, they could still be intercepted in the fight for the Champions League.
It is unclear whether Goretzka would then back down. What is certain, however, is that the long-time Bayern star would prefer to play in the premier class.
Goretzka reacts to rumors
Goretzka himself recently responded evasively to speculation about his future.
“I really haven’t decided yet. I’m lucky enough to be in the privileged situation that I’m 100 percent keen on something and want to be convinced of it when I do something. That’s why I don’t stress myself at all and just wait until that feeling arises,” said Goretzka after the 5-1 win in his last Bundesliga game for Munich against 1. FC Köln on “Sky”.
At the moment, his focus should be on his last chance for the title with FC Bayern. On Saturday, Goretzka and the record champions will face VfB Stuttgart in the final of the DFB Cup.
After 2019 and 2020, Goretzka would like to win his third cup title at the end of his time with Munich.
