It seems that John de Mol is finally done with Peter Gillis now that he has been convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Nicol Kremers, who also had a role in his Talpa show. “He was looking for reason.”

John de Mol has kept a hand over Peter Gillis’s head for years. As criticism piled up and the accusations became more and more serious, the Talpa boss continued to insist that he only wanted to intervene once the judge had made a ruling. That wait-and-see attitude was of course not entirely coincidental and had to do with son Johnny.

Abuse

Just like Peter, Johnny also became embroiled in a controversial abuse case, after a public accusation from his ex-partner Shima Kaes. That case ultimately came to nothing, and as a result, John was able to hide for years in the Peter Gillis affair behind the mantra that the judge should judge first.

Well, the judge has now done that. He was sentenced yesterday to an eighteen-month prison sentence, of which six months were suspended, for tax fraud, and was given 60 hours of community service for assaulting his ex. “I don’t think working 60 hours to beat up your girlfriend is that much,” says Johan Derksen Today Inside.

‘John was looking for reason’

However, it now costs Peter his TV career. Johan: “I think Talpa is very happy, because they now have a reason to cut it down. Talpa has always said: ‘As soon as there is a conviction and he is guilty, then it’s over.’”

“They were just waiting for that, because of course they wanted to get rid of it, but it is also a bit crazy to let yourself run wild in front of public opinion, like: ‘That has to be taken off the air.’ You don’t do that.”

What does Talpa say?

Talpa says that Peter’s series on hold has been set. “We have taken note of the judicial decisions in the lawsuits surrounding Peter Gillis. As long as there is an appeal or cassation in these cases, no new recordings for Family Gillis: Massa is Kassa will take place.”

The channel continues: “The current season of the series has already been recorded, is currently broadcast on SBS6 and runs until June 5.”

Hypocritical

This statement really came a few minutes after the last recordings were completed, notes Luuk Ikink RTL Boulevard. It was still business as usual at the courthouse. “When we got that response back, the recordings had indeed just ended. Three minutes earlier!”

According to Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden, Peter knew nothing about this decision. He agrees Show news: “I have to say that I spoke to Peter Gillis on the phone for a while after I received this statement and he really didn’t know anything. He says: ‘I have no idea.’”

Lap dog

Bram Moszkowicz, until recently Peter’s biggest lap dog, was also at the desk. This time it remained remarkably quiet from his corner, and you quickly see where his real loyalty lies: with the person at the top of the food chain.

Peter has not yet responded to the fact that Talpa is still dropping him after all these years.
