Linda Lampenius gets to play the violin live at Eurovision, reports Over. The New Music Competition also informs about it on his Instagram account.
According to Eurovision rules, the sound of all instruments must come from the background tape. Lampenius had applied for an exception to this rule.
According to Yle, the matter was resolved in favor of Lampenius on Wednesday after Finland’s Eurovision rehearsals in Vienna.
According to UMK’s publication, Lampenius has received special permission to play “some of the violin parts” live.
Lampenius also commented on the matter in his own in his Instagram update. The update has also been released Pete Parkkonen on an official account.
– We are very well received and grateful that we get to be a part of history. After countless rehearsals and discussions, we are proud to announce that Linda Lampenius has received permission and plans to play the violin soloist parts live on the Eurovision stage. It brings us immense joy that his voice can be heard through his violin on the biggest night in music, the publication writes.
In Finland’s singing competition, i.e. in the final of the New Music Competition in February, Lampenius’ violin was heard on the background tape, because UMK’s rules adapt to the official rules of the Eurovision Song Contest. Lampenius said that he actually played and a microphone was connected to the instrument so that he could hear his own playing. However, the public did not hear this.
