It is striking: almost since RTL 4 announced that it would stop the failed RTL Tonight, Beau van Erven Dorens has no longer been seen as presenter of the program. He had enough time to bash colleague Renze Klamer on every stage, but apparently not enough time to appear at the program desk.
Beau has been absent for a month and that causes speculation. However, according to TV authority Tina Nijkamp, he is busy with another job. “Beau has not been seen on RTL Tonight for a while. For at least a month. He has been on holiday for two weeks, we know from his column in the AD, but he will make his return on Sunday.”
She continues in her podcast Tina’s TV Update: “Then he will present again for a week. We don’t know why he has been absent for so long. I can, however, report that he is working on a new program.”
Youth care
Beau may have been busy with that, according to Tina. “After his Rotterdam and Amsterdam Project, that program is a new ‘Project’, namely Project Youth Care or something like that. That’s the kind of title.”
She concludes: “In any case, it is about young people who turn 18 and drop out of youth care. So he is making a social program again and we will see that this autumn or early spring on RTL 4, I think.”
