Recently, Borussia Dortmund was again increasingly linked to Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln. A supposed BVB transfer plan with the 19-year-old is apparently not going down well in the cathedral city.

A base transfer fee of 30 million euros, five million euros in bonus payments, a share in the sale and two loan players – the Express recently reported on this package that Dortmund could put together for El Mala.

At 1. FC Cologne, however, this alleged BVB idea caused nothing other than “shaking of the head”, writes the club-affiliated “Geissblog”. Accordingly, last year’s Bundesliga newcomer was insisting on a fixed fee of around 50 million euros for El Mala. The FC apparently does not want to get involved in another deal.

The problem from Cologne’s perspective: According to “Geissblog”, no other club has recently made a concrete offer to Geißbockheim.

What is known is that FC Brentford had previously made serious efforts to acquire El Mala and had even agreed on a change with 1. FC Köln and, in the meantime, the players’ side. However, the El Mala camp backtracked and called off the possible transfer.

1. FC Köln: El Mala too expensive for BVB?

How hot BVB’s interest in El Mala really is at the moment is controversial. “Bild” reported that a Dortmund advance on the offensive player was at least very unlikely.

El Mala is still on the BVB list, but his rocket-like development in the past few months has simply made him too expensive for the black and yellow team, it was said.

According to “Bild”, BVB is currently focusing on completely different activities. There are no concrete plans for El Mala.

In order to even think about larger transfers, the Revierklub would first have to generate income through its own sales, it was said.
