Striking news from the NOS: after Annechien Steenhuizen, there is a second presenter who has been out for a long time, namely Jeroen Overbeek. “I wish him and his loved ones all the best.”
Annechien Steenhuizen suddenly disappeared two years ago as presenter of the Achuurjournaal and it has never become completely clear what was going on with her. Private boss Evert Santegoeds discovered it at the beginning of this year, but has not revealed it: “It is such a strict private situation that I am not going to burn my fingers on it.”
Jeroen drops out
Now it appears that her colleague Jeroen Overbeek has also dropped out. He will therefore not be heard tonight during the Remembrance Day report. “We have been used to Jeroen Overbeek providing the commentary around the two minutes of silence at NOS since 2003 and this year it will be someone else,” said TV authority Tina Nijkamp.
That will be Mark Visser. Tina in her podcast: “I just asked the NOS how exactly that works. Some time ago I asked: ‘Where is Jeroen Overbeek actually at the NOS Journaal?’”
Private circumstances
Tina thinks that something very bad is also going on with Jeroen. “Jero is absent due to private circumstances and that is why he will not provide commentary tonight.”
She concludes: “After Annechien Steenhuizen, this is already the second presenter who has been absent from the NOS Journaal for a long period of time. I of course wish Jeroen and his loved ones all the best with their private circumstances.”
