The sports store of the Sport 2000 trade association in Meppen has now reopened after extensive renovation. The aim of the redesign was a clearly structured shopping experience with improved orientation, an expanded range and a stronger focus on advice and service.

On around 450 square meters of sales space over two levels, the store was reorganized according to sport and the existing brand portfolio was specifically supplemented with new suppliers such as Columbia, Patagonia, Brooks, Puma, Hummel and Only Play. This is intended to strengthen competence in the outdoor, running, team sports and sportstyle segments, according to the company.

One focus is on the running sector: With the integrated Currex running shoe analysis, the location offers individual, data-based advice to optimize product recommendations. In this way, the specialist retailer wants to clearly position itself as offering strong advice and offer added value compared to online retail.

The concept is complemented by in-house textile finishing, which offers clubs, companies and teams tailor-made solutions for jerseys, training clothing and merchandise. This significantly expands the range of services and anchors them locally. The conversion was carried out in accordance with the specifications of the Sport 2000 format concept in close coordination with Sport 2000.

“The renovation in Meppen shows very well how our Sport 2000 format works in practice. Together we have clearly structured the area, developed the range in a targeted manner and consistently placed the focus on advice and service. From our point of view, it is precisely this combination of inspiring brand presence and professional competence that is crucial in order to sustainably inspire customers and position specialist retailers for the future,” explains the responsible retail manager of Sport 2000, Melanie Merz.
