Around 33,000 Lufthansa employees will receive new uniforms. At an internal fashion show in Frankfurt, around 40 new uniform items were presented, which were designed together with the clothing brand Boss. The appearance remains classic in the colors dark blue and the typical Lufthansa yellow.
From the fourth quarter onwards, the new uniform items will go to employees who have an annual clothing budget available for shopping in the ‘Pillbox’ clothing store. According to Lufthansa, the new items can be easily combined with the current Strenesse uniforms. These were introduced 24 years ago and are now to be gradually replaced.
Extensive wear tests
The introduction was preceded by extensive wearing tests in which 150 employees from the cockpits, cabins and ground stations took part. They also demonstrated the new clothes at the Lufthansa events center ‘Hangar One’. The reintroduced shirts in dark blue as well as a cape in the style of the 1970s that was not previously included in the collection were particularly well received.
At the presentation, airline boss Jens Ritter described the new clothing as Lufthansa’s business card. “A uniform tells who we are before we have said a word.”
