Creativity blooms from chaos has been chosen as the 2026 Restaurant of the Year. The Society of Gastronomies of Finland, which made the selection, thanks Samu Räsänen bold concept and refined taste philosophy, which elevated his restaurant to Restaurant of the Year.
According to the reasons for the selection, the restaurant’s distinctive concept combines creativity, surprise and unyielding taste into a seamless whole.
According to the jury, the dishes are visually impressive, technically skilled and bold in their taste worlds. The service is relaxed, personal and professional, which is one of the restaurant’s strongest competitive factors.
– We want to make a restaurant where creativity is not glued on, but can be seen in every choice. This recognition belongs to the entire team and customers who return again and again, Räsänen says in the press release.

Criteria for the restaurant of the year recognition
In order to achieve the restaurant of the year recognition, a restaurant must offer good and distinctive food and excellent service that makes the customer feel valued.
The restaurant of the year has a good price-quality ratio and its operation is long-term, consistent and reliable.
Finland’s oldest food association, Suomen Gastronomien Seura ry, has awarded the restaurant of the year recognition to deserving restaurants since 1985.
The society that nurtures and develops gastronomy and food culture was founded in 1945 and has around 300 members.
