Progressive Netherlands leader Jesse Klaver was at the table last night Today Inside and that produced few fireworks. It only came to a collision when Johan Derksen called the Amsterdam GroenLinks politician Zita Pels a ‘cunt’ because of her collision with Mona Keijzer at the table at Pauw & De Wit the evening before.

Fuck

Johan finds Zita horrible. “Will she be expelled after that despicable performance?”

Jesse: “Certainly not.”

Johan: “What a piece of shit that is!”

Jesse: “Come on! No, no, no, no. This is what I mean! Why can’t you just say that you don’t agree with her. Someone is immediately a bitch. That just disqualifies someone.”

Johan: “Well, that’s putting it far too kindly for her. She really is a terrible lady.”

Not necessary

Jesse doesn’t think this is possible. “I don’t think this is necessary at all to just make your point. I think the Netherlands will be a lot more fun if we don’t do that.”

Johan: “It’s structural, isn’t it? It’s not just this one time with Mona Keijzer. She always goes crazy in the Amsterdam city council. That lady comes to a table like that to disrupt things, to score.”

Jesse cynically: “Well, and I hate talk shows where they actually do that.”

Wilfred Genee: “Hahaha. I liked that one! Hahahaha, sorry!”

Jesse: “You’re being super critical of her now because she’s making a political stand, but you’ve been disrupting all evening!”

Fist deep

Columnist Jan Dijkgraaf is disappointed in VI. “I understood that Jesse Klaver had to sleep on his stomach last night because of pain in his butt. Someone had been in his fist deep,” he sneers. Letter from Jan.

GeenStijl believes that Jesse was ‘pampered‘ at VI. “It was disappointing for all the right-wing boys and girls who were hoping for fireworks, because it turned out to be an exceptionally pleasant evening with the gentle guys Derksen, Gijp and Genee.”

What does Victor think?

TV critic Victor Vlam praises Jesse. “I’m going to surprise you: I think he did a great job. Only a few times did I get annoyed with him. And that’s quite a good score for him. Usually it’s more,” he says on X.

“That is actually the secret of VI: if you, as a politician, just participate in a fun way, you will never really be dealt with harshly. It is a chemistry-driven program.”
