In the middle of the night, without singles or lead-in: Enter Shikari have released “Lose Your Self” – their darkest album with a message.
Enter Shikari have surprisingly released a new album: “Lose Your Self” was released without any prior announcement or classic single phase on the night of April 10th. The twelve-track work has been available to stream as well as physically on CD and vinyl since midnight.
Dark, direct – but with hope
In terms of content, the band moves in the usual territory between a feeling of political pressure and emotional tension. “Lose Your Self” is about abandonment, futility and despair about the state of the world – but consciously counters this with hope and optimism. Singer Rou Reynolds describes the album as a deliberately unfiltered listening experience without lead-in, singles or explanations: The aim is to present the work as a coherent journey.
“Shikari will always offer hope, because without hope no action is possible,” Reynolds continued. At the same time, it is one of the band’s darkest and heaviest albums.
