Yvonne Coldeweijer breaks the silence in an exclusive interview with the AD. She explains what really happened behind the scenes at Talpa and what she thinks of John de Mol…
The judge will rule in two days in the case that Yvonne Coldeweijer has filed against Talpa. The media company stopped paying her salary because she was said to be impossible to work with. Of the nine tons that she would receive over a two-year period, about 6.5 tons are still outstanding. And that’s what she’s after.
Blackened
It A.D states that Yvonne only wanted to talk to them if the interview was published at least two days before the verdict. “I have a very good reason for this. I am being slandered so much by Talpa that I think it would be good to tell my story clearly once without it being overshadowed by the judge’s judgment.”
What is true about Talpa’s lawyer’s statement that she is greedy, a diva and a narcissist? “None. At the beginning of December, it was already announced to me that they did not want to continue with me, and yet I still received months of pay.”
Diva behavior
Talpa stopped doing this when Yvonne reopened her own juice channel in February. “Then it suddenly became clear that you are apparently terminating your contract, so we are stopping your wages. Talpa was looking for a stick to hit with. And then the ‘diva behavior’ was added.”
There was some messing around behind the scenes, she acknowledges. “On the first day of work, one person was appointed to run things. He came up with a formula that seemed a bit infantile to me. I had to go on TV in a kind of lab coat and something would happen to ‘juice hunters’ lying in the bushes.”
Over the top
It is probably Pascal van Meerten. “The project leader was completely upset because I had complained to John. He was so angry that he was taken off the program. By Talpa, not by me.”
According to Yvonne, the main stumbling block was that celebrities did not want to come to the table. According to her, Tamara Elbaz and Mark Koster were almost contracted, but Hans Klok, for example, dropped out. There was never any quarrel. Yvonne is not asked why Eric de Munck resigned as second editor-in-chief.
Christmas bauble
John is just sorry because his sister Linda de Mol is not there happy was along, says Yvonne. “John can’t stand criticism and cares about everything. If there’s the wrong color Christmas bauble, he’s already pissed off. He made an error in judgment, afterwards preferred not to do this program and dropped me from the project.”
According to Yvonne, her contract states that she must be offered other programs if De Juice does not happen. “But that doesn’t happen either. I am not a narcissistic money-grabber. We are talking about a large amount of money, but if the conflict were about an average annual salary, probably no one would have said that I am greedy.”
Out of the doldrums
John was willing to pay that nine thousand euros to pull Net5 out of the doldrums, according to Yvonne. Based on that nine thousand, she also took out a loan to renovate her house, she says. “The lender saw the contract and said on that basis that we can get that loan.”
She concludes: “Again, it is Talpa who caused the conflict. I would like to work as we agreed. Joining Shownieuws would be a good thing as far as I’m concerned.”
